DC FORMS COMMITTEES UNDER SDMs FOR PROMPT TRACING & SAMPLING OF CONTACTS OF COVID PATIENTS

The Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait has formed committees under Sub Divisional Magistrates to ensure prompt tracing and sampling of those remained in contact of COVID positive patients in district.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the concerned Sub Divisional Magistrates will be the Nodal Officers of said committees while the concerned DSPs, Senior Medical Officers besides Commissioner Municipal Corporation/Executive Officers of Nagar Councils/Nagar Panchayats in urban areas and Block Development and Panchayats Officers in Rural areas would be the member of committees. Apneet Riyait said that this step would be instrumental in ensuring contact tracing and testing of the Covid positive patients contacts at the earliest.

Riyait said that these teams had been mandated to ensure the speedy tracing and sampling of contacts of patients infected with corona virus besides strictly enforcing the guidelines regarding home isolation. She said that early tracing and and testing could lead to contain the further spread of coronavirus. The Deputy Commissioner also directed district epidemiologist Dr Sulesh Kumar, who is the nodal officer for contact tracing in Hoshiarpur district, to remain in constant touch of said committee besides updating about the COVID related guidelines and directions being issued by the health department time to time.


The Deputy Commissioner also asked the committees to send daily status reports to her office along with the number of traced contacts, number of tests and number of cases found positive besides the number of cases of patients under home isolation.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also deputed Medical Officer Harinder Singh Kajla as nodal officer to send daily reports regarding COVID-19 pandemic to higher authorities well in time. Riyait also asked Kajla to coordinate with ADC (G) Amit Kumar Panchaal and nodal Officer of police department SP (Investigation) Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu for efficacious monitoring of these reports.
