CM urges newly elected PRI representatives to work with dedication

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the delegation of newly elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies of the Jubbal-Kothkai Vidhan Sabha area of Shimla district here today urged them to work with dedication and devotion to meet the expectations and aspirations of the people of the area.
Chief Minister while congratulating the newly elected representatives of the PRIs and ULBs said that he had been in the House for the last about 24 years, but had never seen such a one-sided victory of a party in the elections to these grass root institutions of democracy. He said that in Shimla district the BJP supported candidates have won about 70 percent seats of the Panchayat Pradhan. He said that in Seraj Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district, out of 78 panchayats, the BJP has won in 72 panchayats. He said that the State BJP has won over 70 percent of the seats in the PRIs and ULBs.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the Corona pandemic adversely affected the world economy and our state and country was not an exception. He said that but due to the timely steps taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the loss was minimum as compared to other countries. He said that the Country was now gradually coming out of this situation. He said the State Government also ensured that the pace of development does not get affected due to the pandemic. He said that during this period the State Government virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs 3500 crore.
Chief Minister said that the State Government was giving special attention towards the development of Jubbal-Kotkhai Vidhan Sabha area. He said that during the Covid pandemic he virtually laid foundation stones and inaugurated projects worth Rs. 275 crore in the area and on 9th November personally visited the area and dedicated projects worth Rs 31 crore for the area. With this, projects worth Rs 301 crore were also dedicated to the people of the area during the last about one year itself, he added.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was planning to celebrate 51st year of the Statehood in a befitting manner. He said that 51 events would be held throughout the State to ensure peoples’ participation. He said that the people would be sensitized about the progress the State has made during all these years. He said that the people who had made significant contribution towards the development of the State and made a name for the State in various fields would also be honoured.
Chief Minister said that the newly elected members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions must work with greater commitment to come upto the expectations of the people of their area. He said that there was no dearth of funds before the Pradhans of the panchayats, the only thing required was to ensure its proper utilization. He also urged the elected members to maintain cordial relations in their respective area as the elections were now over and the tendency of the vengeance was not good for healthy society.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government would ensure that the pace of development goes uninterrupted in the State and for this it was essential that BJP once again form government in the State. He said that for this active support and co-operation of the people was required. He said that the State Government has ensured adequate arrangements for proper transportation of apple and cherry despite lockdown. He said that the special arrangements were made for production of carton boxes and the farmers got best prices of their produce. He said that the nation was today safe in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had today emerged as the world leader and country was poised to emerge as the world power. He said that State was also fortunate to have Jagat Prakash Nadda as President of the National BJP. He also urged the people to give their whole hearted support to ensure BJP once again comes to power in the 2022 vidhan sabha elections.
Chief Whip Narender Bragta said that the people of the State were fortunate to have Jai Ram Thakur heading the State, who himself came from a humble background and understands the developmental needs and expectations of the people of the State. He said that Chief Minister was ensuring balanced and alround development of the State with special focus on those areas which remained neglected so far. He said that the State Government not only won all the seats in Lok Sabha election, but also won both the by elections for the State Assembly. He said that now the BJP had virtually swept the elections to the Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies. He said that the elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions must ensure that the funds allocated for development of the area was optimally utilized.
Narender Bragta also thanked the Chief Minister for being considerate towards the developmental demands and expectations of the people of the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring improvement and strengthening of Theog-Hatkoti-Rohru road. He said that people of the constituency has made a highest contribution of Rs 76 lakh towards the CM Covid Fund. He also urged the elected representatives to work with dedication and commitment without and vengeance towards development of their respective areas.
President, Mahasu BJP District Mandal Ajay Shayam said that the State Government laid foundation stones and inaugurations of developmental projects worth crores of Rupees virtually during the Corona pandemic so that that pace of development does not get affected during the pandemic itself.
BJP Mandal President Gopal Jariak welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
State IT Cell Convener Chetan Bragta, BJP leaders from the area Yashvir Justa, Arun Kalta, Ankush Chauhan, President Nagar Panchayat Jubbal Dalip Chauhan and other leaders were present on the occasion.
