Under Rurban Mission, as many as 68 villages of district’s Sansarpur cluster in Dasuya sub-division will witness a complete facelift with having basic amenities, creation of job avenues besides boosting urbanisation and economic infrastructure. Of total Rs 30 crore outlay, Rs 9 crore has already been released as first instalment under the said mission so far.

According to Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait, the development of villages under the said mission was on taking place on an accelerated pace. She said that a total 2471 Solar LED lights had already been installed in all 68 villages of the Sansarpur cluster. She said that the Rurban will bring massive transformation in villages ensuring holistic development including construction of bio-digester public toilet, bus queue shelters, multipurpose halls, sports complexes, liquid waste management and laying of pipes for potable water.

Apart from these, construction of roads in villages, installation of sanitary napkin vends in Government schools, renovation of old Aanganwari centres besides construction of new Aanganwari centre, said the Deputy Commissioner adding that the Skill Development Center at village Rangian would also be rejuvenated.

Under the scheme, various development works would be taken up in the cluster in phased manner while different projects under the Mission were going in an accelerated pace in villages, said the DC adding that the entire mission would be accomplished by March 2021.

Elaborating the mission further, Apneet Riyait said that various development works were being taken under Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission with a view to providing livelihood means to locals populace, unemployed youth. She said that this mission was being implemented with 70:30 Centre-State share, which aimed to augment the infrastructure of the rural areas and ensure employment opportunities to the locals.

Riyait said that currently shops were also being constructed in Pandher village to provide employment opportunities to needy people besides construction of Bio-Digester public toilets in Passi Kandi and Sansarpur village.
