Himachal Gets 06 IMFC Schemes

Himachal Pradesh got investment clearance of six Irrigation, Multipurpose and Flood Control Schemes at an estimated cost of Rs.7,922.69 crores on August 07, 2020 in a meeting held at New Delhi.
This was revealed by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today while addressing a press conference here at Dharamshala. Out of the 10 schemes, which got clearance, six schemes are from State of Himachal Pradesh, 3 from Maharashtra and one from Tamil Nadu, he added. Himachal will get 40MW free electricity generated under Renuka Ji Dam Project by HPCL. The State will also get and 3.15 % water share from this project.
Chief Minister told that for Renuka ji Dam Project (National Project) with an estimated cost of Rs. 6946.99 Crores and Himachal Pradesh State Govt. five proposals related to flood protection works/anti erosion measures with estimated cost of Rs. 975.70 crore were given investment clearance by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in the 13th Meeting of Investment Clearance Committee (ICC) of Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD & GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti for consideration of Investment Clearance of State Govt. proposals in respect of Major and Medium Irrigation, Flood Control and Multipurpose Projects.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Dharampur constituency in Mandi district got the clearance for Sakrain, Malthod, Thothu, Dol and Samour Khad with estimated cost of Rs. 145.73 Crores, Kangra District for Naker Khad and its tributaries with an estimated cost of Rs. 231.02 Crore, Sirmour District for Right Bank of the River Yamuna and its tributaries with an estimated cost of Rs. 250.46 crores, Mandi District for Sheer Khad from Barchhwar to Jahu with an estimated cost of 157.66 crores and Shimla district for the River Pabbar from Takkari to Hatkosi in Rohru Tehsil with estimated cost of Rs. 190.82 crores.
