Taking serious note of stary cattle menace, the Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait on Thursday directed the Municipal Corporation to launch a vigorous drive to catch cattles strolling down on city roads, which would be further kept at gaushala in Falahi village.
Giving directions in this regard during a meeting on stray cattle menace, Apneet Riyait asked the Municipal Corporation, Transport, Animal Husbandry and Rural Development & Panchayats Department officials to work in tandem to eliminate this menace. She further instructed that municipal corporation would appoint a nodal officer to monitor the entire drive. RTA will make adequate transport arrangements, said the Deputy Commissioner adding that Animal Husbandry official would appoint doctors to take care of captured cattles.
Apneet Riyait further instructed the Commissioner to ensure that this drive would be carried out in an efficacious manner so that any untoward incident could be averted in future. She said that the initially the drive would be launched for two weeks, which would be a continuous process to save precious lives.
Soliciting fulsome support and cooperation from the public, the Deputy Commissioner urged the cattle owners not to let loose their cattles in larger public interest. She said that the District Administration had made elaborate arrangements to keep the captured cattles and bulls at Falahi Gaushala.
The Deputy Commissioner said that measures against stray cattles would be intensified in days to come to curb the menace in larger public interest.
