DC APPEALS PEOPLE TO CELEBRATE JANAM ASHTAMI PRAYERS AT THEIR HOMES AMID COVID-19

Urging people to avoid congestion and crowd on the auspicious occasion of Janam Ashtami amid COVID-19 pandemic, the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait appealed that people should celebrate the festive at their homes besides offering prayers.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that people could visit temples for prayers between 5 am and 8 pm with strict adherence of health safety guidelines related to COVID. She said that this appeal was extended to people in view of spike in COVID cases so that timely prevention of further spread of Corona could be ensured.
Pointing out further, the Deputy Commissioner said that there should be no gathering of more than 20 people in the temples as per the guidelines with strictly following the social distancing.
Apneet Riyait also sought fulsome cooperation and support from the managements of temples in these trying circumstances of COVID-19. She urged them to get the instructions issued by the Administration implemented in true spirit in larger public interest.
She also asserted that the District Administration was not allowing any religious function and procession on this auspicious day to keep the further spread of COVID under check. She also directed all the SDMs and DSPs to ensure smooth arrangements and requisite security outside the temples to ensure execution of COVID guidelines without any fail .
