‘Abhinandan Samaroh’ was held at historic Thodo Ground of Solan

BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda was accorded rousing welcome on his arrival in Solan town during his maiden visit to the State after becoming the National President of BJP, the biggest political party of the world. The ‘Abhinandan Samaroh’ was held at historic Thodo Ground of Solan, where thousands of people stood to welcome their beloved leader.

While thanking the people of the State for the warm welcome accorded to him at Solan, National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the State of Himachal Pradesh was known as ‘Dev Bhumi’ and it was a matter of honour that the son of Himachal Pradesh had been given such a bigger responsibility to discharge. He said that he had not even imagined that he would get opportunity to lead the BJP. He said that all this was possible due to the benevolence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the blessings of the people of the State.

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that there were over 2000 political parties in the country and most of them were led and governed by a political family. He said that the BJP was the only political party in the Country where any worker can become the National President and even the Prime Minister. He said that this makes the BJP a political party with a difference. He said that all the BJP workers were fortunate that they were associated with such a great party which was governed by ideology. He said that today the party has over 17 crore members and has a strong and vibrant leader in form of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

National BJP President said that according to the former BJP National President and present Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP has to achieve still more and this would be possible only with support of the people. He said that the strong leadership at the Centre has converted impossible into possible. He said that Article 370 has become a thing of the past and today India is ‘One Nation with One Constitution’. He said that it was for the first time after independence that elections of BDCs were held in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that all the laws of this great nation were now applicable in Jammu and Kashmir and now it will prosper and progress by leaps and bounds.

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the opposition were making un-necessary hue and cry over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was unfortunate and uncalled for. He said that the Act was not against minorities of the country, but it was aimed at helping the minorities of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. He said that today Indians have been proving their worth all over the world and world leaders have acknowledged the might of India.

National President BJP said that the State Government led by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was doing commendable work for welfare of the State and its people. He said that programmes such as Jan Manch, HIMCARE and Grihini Suvidha Yojna were possible due to a sensitive and farsighted Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who understands the needs and aspirations of the common man. He said that all this was possible due to the double engine government at Centre and the State. He said that AIIMS at Bilaspur, 69 National Highways were possible due to the benevolence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jagat Prakash Nadda said that it becomes duty of each and every party worker to disseminate policies and programmes of the State Government amongst the masses.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while welcoming the National BJP President J.P. Nadda to the State after holding the highest post of the BJP, said that despite being a small State, Himachal Pradesh was today blessed to have a son of the State who was holding a post which usually was held by leaders from bigger states. He said that this was possible due to the unparalleled leadership qualities of J.P. Nadda.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the present State Government has today completed two years and two more months in office and this period has been remained full of achievements and accomplishments. He said that the very first decision of the State Government was to lower the age limit of senior citizens for availing old age pension without any income criteria from 80 years to 70 years and over 2.63 lakh senior citizens were benefitted. He said that State Government introduced Jan Manch Scheme for redressal of public grievances and 46763 complaints were received till now under Jan Manch programme held in different parts of the State, out of which almost all have been redressed. He said that apart of Jan Manch, the State Government has launched Chief Minister Helpline 1100 to solve the problems of the people of the State. He said that with this Himachal Pradesh has become fifth state of the Country to launch this ambitious Helpline. He said that till date about 2,73,000 calls were received out of which 64,300 were complaints. He said that out of these complaints, 56,062 have been resolved.
Chief Minister said HimCare scheme has been started for those not covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojna in the State. He said that under this scheme, free medical treatment facility upto Rs. 5 lakh was being provided on the lines of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. He said that as many as 5.50 lakh families have been registered within a year under the scheme and more than 60 thousand patients have been treated on which the government has spent an amount of Rs. 62 crore. He said that financial assistance of Rs. 2000 per month was being provided to the eligible patients under the Sahara Yojna to the patients suffering from serious diseases like paralysis, cancer and muscular dystrophy.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has started Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojna, under which more than 2.76 lakh families have been provided free gas connections and Himachal Pradesh has become the first smoke free State of the country.
He said that as many as 6,73,961 digital ration cards and 2,08,179 Kisan credit cards were distributed and 1,98,082 people were benefitted under Jan Dhan Yojana in the State.
State BJP President Dr Rajiv Bindal while welcoming the National BJP President in Solan town said that he was committed to strengthen the base of BJP in the State so that BJP could form its government in 2022 again in the State. He said that J.P. Nadda has served the BJP in various capacities and always stood for the development and welfare of the country and the State. He said that Nadda has served all these positions with utmost dedication and commitment.
Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar said that it was a matter of great pride and honour for each and every Himachali today, that J.P. Nadda has become National President of BJP. He said that he was fortunate that he has served the nation and the State for about 66 years. He said that the present era was the Golden era for the BJP as it has not only emerged as the biggest political party of the world, but the party today is more organised and spread its base across the country. He said that he has always practiced politics of principles.
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur while welcoming the National President BJP Jagat Parkash Nadda, Chief Minister and other dignitaries said that it was great honour for the State of Himachal Pradesh that the biggest political party of the world was being led by the son of the soil. He said that it was due to the leadership qualities of J P Nadda, that he was assigned this important duty. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making India a five trillion dollar economy of the world by the year 2025. He said that today India has emerged as the fifth biggest economy of the world, which speaks of the policies and programmes of the Union Government. He also detailed various schemes initiated by the Union Government for welfare of the common man and business communities. He also congratulated the Chief Minister for successfully organising the first Global Investors’ Meet at Dharamshala, which would go a long way in strengthening the economy of the State. He said that Union Government would provide all possible help for construction of a big airport in Mandi district.
